Let's hope something more useful comes along for you. Thanks for commenting.

APAnna Presswellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13837041681638346056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119828565511601708.post-30295499235514375792012-05-05T07:14:30.748-07:002012-05-05T07:14:30.748-07:00I tried the sensor for 4 weeks. I'm not going to wear it anymore not worth the hasselAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119828565511601708.post-43395782888327972592011-09-28T03:55:56.728-07:002011-09-28T03:55:56.728-07:00The Medtronic Enlite sensor for the Guardian RT is...The Medtronic Enlite sensor for the Guardian RT is in clinical trials in the USA, under the product name "Comfort Sensor". You can read about it at:
http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01112696?term=NCT01112696&rank=1
Be sure to read the section titled, "Detailed Description", where you can read " 1) Assess performance of the Comfort Sensor when used over a period of seven days with currently available devices, and 2) Assess performance of the Comfort Sensor when used over a period of seven days using new calibration algorithms (post-processed with algorithm for future devices)."

The information in the link immediately above does NOT state specifically that the Enlite Sensor IS the Medtronic Comfort Sensor; yet the description of the Comfort Sensor in the link immediately above is identical (or at least very similar) to how the Enlite sensor is described in various blogs, including Anna's.

If you want to do more research about the Comfort Sensor's progress through the FDA, keep in mind the ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier number is "NCT01112696"

The last update to the NCT01112696
record was on August 24, 2010. Today is September 28th, 2011.

I do not think this information indicates IF the Comfort Sensor will be sold in the USA, because the FDA will be the final decision maker about the Comfort Sensor's future. There does not appear to have been any FDA decison made so far that I could find about approving or denying approval of the Comfort Sensor. Yet, the information in the NCT01112696 record validates Mendtronic's claim "Medtronic is working closely with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on plans to commercialize the product in the United States." that can be read here:
http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20110411006560/en/Medtronic-Launches-Accurate-Comfortable-Sensor-Improve-Glucose

Also, it my understanding from other doumentation that the "new calibration algorithms (post-processed with algorithm for future devices)" are indeed increasing the accuracy of the Medtronic Guardian's glucose readings, and these new techniques can be applied to using the existing SofSensor while gaining similar accuracy improvements - IF you have the new and yet to be released Guardian.

MaxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119828565511601708.post-18373645939350530422011-09-12T10:16:58.667-07:002011-09-12T10:16:58.667-07:00Well, who knows how long it will take the foot-dra...Well, who knows how long it will take the foot-dragging FDA to get it available in the US. I'm not doing so badly on the SofSensor, but WOULD like improved accuracy!Nataliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06909597803703850020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119828565511601708.post-82451595777136140772011-09-08T14:44:37.154-07:002011-09-08T14:44:37.154-07:00Thank you Harish, and thank you for dropping by
